Contemporary modern chinoiserie paintings of vibrant floral, bird, fish and water scenes. 

Chinoiserie is a french word for the fusion of Eastern and Western design.  Chinoiserie is a European decorative style that imitates the art and design of China, Japan and other Asian countries. It was particularly popular from the latter half of the 18th to the mid 19th century and had a resurgence during the Art deco period.  

This collection of paintings represents my artistic take on modern vintage chinoiserie. The artworks are themed in vibrant exotic luxury and opulence, inspired by far eastern sanctuaries and lavish interior design.

Chinoiserie could be handpainted on screens or walls,  was often used as wallpaper and is a design that historically features in many homes as and interiors, including soft furnishings like cushions and curtains.
