This is the first painting in a series of 2. I've called this Interstellar Tahi / One. There are only two paintings in this series, which were inspired by other dimensions and space.
They're geometrical abstracts and look amazing as a set or pair hung together as a diptych, or separately - see Interstellar Rua / Two here.
My work is extraordinarily difficult to photograph because of the many layers which are reflective and look like glass - but are not.
The photos and clips taken under studio lights don't show the special effects and turn the painting blue, and it isn't.
The painting looks textured - but the surface is smooth and flat.
The colour is mainly black, with different tones of white & grey geometric boxes and linear shapes. Depending on the angle and lighting the black background shimmers copper and you'll see wee bubbles. There is an iridescent ice like silvery metallic grey blue colour which changes and shimmers - depending on the light.
So you'll notice other things within the artwork at different times of the day as the painting interacts with light.
The white geometric lines and shapes become more prominent and move forward and backward depending on how the light hits the painting.
The last 2 still photos show the the office room reflecting off the painting. It's not that reflective in real life. There's a couple lights and lamps on, together with light shining through the door. But the reflective photos show the colour theme better.
The video clip more accurately represents the actual colour. Try to visualize it without as much reflection.
This painting series reminds me of one of the last scenes in the movie Interstellar. Watch the clip on YouTube here.
An oldie but a goodie, a fav track that never fails to motivate me when painting is 'Downpipe - Original Club Mix by Mark Knight D. Ramirz, Underworld'. Click to listen on YouTube or Spotify.

If you're an international buyer, please email us for a shipping quote.
The artworks are finished in a UV resistant resin which gives it that glass like finish. However, for longevity it’s best not to place this painting, or any artwork, or even humans or animals in direct UV / sunlight.
All multimedia work is created using top quality materials and arrives ready to be hung, with hanging hardware already attached to the back. But should you wish to professionally frame – you can do that too.
If you're considering a painting, but not 100% sure, please feel free to email me a photo of the room or space you'd like to hang the painting in. I'll email through a mock-up of what it could look like in your living room, dining room, office, kitchen or wall.
Full disclosure: The artworks, like the artist, are not perfect. I have a Siberian Husky dog called Sasquatch and some loose strands of fur may be forever immortalized in your painting, although I can’t guarantee that either!
That said, I want you to be 100% happy with your painting and I understand that buying art online can be challenging. So, I offer a 7-day return policy. If you receive the painting and decide it’s not for you, or it doesn’t suit the room you bought it for, please feel free to return it to me in its original condition - within 7 days of receiving it and I will be happy to refund, less any postage costs.
If you like something that has been sold, drop me a line, as I might be able to create something just for you.
