Titahi Bay Whanau

This painting is is an abstract of a family at the stunningly beautiful Titahi Bay beach in Porirua.
The family is going for a paddle / walk along the beach. Daddy is swinging a very happy toddler in the air. Mummy is hapū, and a new wee soul will join the family soon.
The family has a a glowing aura around them as the sun light shimmers through. Metallic golds glint off the ocean waves and the surrounding land.
I love the cute boatsheds in the background, and of course our mighty Mana Island - Te Mana O Kupe.
This painting feels whimiscal, almost like a fairytale come true.
The bright vivid water like colours appeared, and I feel like they capture the nascent beauty of whanau or the gorgeous growing family in this painting.
Titahi Bay beach has some very special memories for me, as it does the locals, both old and new. So, I really enjoyed creating this art - like the next generation are coming through with a super positive appreciation of how lucky we are to live here.
